The image above is of the Organ Mountains, which are everybody’s backdrop in Las Cruces NM.
I first came to Las Cruces in 2001 as a student at New Mexico State University and then back again in 2008. New Mexico became my home state in the United States as it sits in the border with Chihuahua Mexico, my actual birth state.
Growing up, my dad would normally take us shopping to El Paso Texas, but we never ventured to Las Cruces, not sure why, as I find it less crowded and appealing, at least to me.
It was here where I started to hone my photography skills, where I took my first photography lessons and started to grow into an activity that now is a passion of mine.
There is something about the way the sun light hits the land in New Mexico that always have inspired me to carry my camera with me every single time I leave the house, and I’ve never been disappointed. New Mexico truly is the land of enchantment.
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to live in different places such as Kansas, Oklahoma, Turks and Caicos Island, California and Michigan; and although each one is unique and beautiful, I quite often find myself longing for those sunny days in New Mexico.
It’s been almost two years now that I hit the road as a full time RVer, and have been traveling all across the USA; checking the boxes on many of the places in my bucket list; and currently spending some down time right at the border between Texas and New Mexico, giving me the opportunity to spend more time exploring the area, seeing new places, photographing them and yes, spending time appreciating the beautiful Organ Mountains. Hope you enjoy them through my work as much as I do.
